Job Position: Camp Director
Job Description: Camp Director has on-site responsibility for camp operations. In addition, the Camp Director will assist in other environmental education programs before camp starts. Camp Director is assigned a wide variety of tasks and duties that must be performed to insure the efficient operation of the camp program. Experience needed: College degree required in natural history or education. Must be 21 years old. Experience working with children in the outdoors required.
Job Position: Environmental Educator
Job Description: The Environmental Educator will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of educational programming at the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center including but not limited to: preparing lesson plans, written materials, exhibits and the preparation and facilitation of interpretive programs related to environmental science and natural resources. Environmental educator will deliver educational programs to the public and in scheduled groups on –site as well as off-site. Will also assist in day-to-day operation of nature center. Experience needed: Two years college required. BS degree preferred. Experience working with children in the outdoors required. Some weekends and evenings required.
Job Position: Camp Counselor
Job Description: Camp Counselor will assist Camp Director and environmental educators in the Summer Outdoor Learning Adventure at the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center. Will assist in supervising children ages 6 through 13. Experience needed: Some experience working with children preferred. Must be at least 16 years old.
Job Position: Grounds keeper/ Maintenance Worker
Job Description: Groundskeeper is responsible for all aspects of keeping facility grounds in a safe and attractive state. This includes but is not limited to:
Maintaining six miles of trail; keeping them clear and free of fallen trees and debris
Landscaping; mowing lawns, trimming edge areas
Gardening; maintaining three gardens for public viewing
Facility Upkeep; painting, light carpentry, handyman tasks
Groundskeeper will also assist in supervising teens in the summer vocational program to perform basic tasks on facility grounds.
Experience needed: Basic knowledge of hand tools and landscaping required. Must be 21 years old. Some weekends required.
Job Position: Natural Resources Educator

A seasonal shared position with Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center and Cornell Cooperative Extension. Educator is responsible for delivering environmental education programs at the Dyken Pond Center and also to Rensselaer County 4-H clubs.
