Explore nature through Scientific Inquiry using science instruments: microscopes, magnifying glasses, discovery loupes, binoculars, increment borers and pH tests. We will&nbsp;go outside, explore and learn about the world around us. Topics may include native animals, birds, insects, water quality and much more. &nbsp;Students will learn the scientific method by asking &nbsp;questions each week and then devising science experiments to answer the challenge.&nbsp; Be prepared to venture outdoors each week. Grades K-5<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nature Discovery<\/strong> \u2013 This program uses award-winning children\u2019s literature as a starting point to discover nature and the connections between ourselves, all living things and planet Earth.&nbsp; After reading a short story, children will actively explore the topic of the day through hands-on activities, games and crafts.&nbsp; Emphasis will be on sensory awareness, creative thinking and lots of fun to explore the natural world around us. Children should be prepared to go outside for a portion of the class each week and dress accordingly.&nbsp; Grades K-5.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">Amazing Animals<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"> &#8211;&nbsp; How do animals communicate?&nbsp; Why to they behave as they do?&nbsp; What can they teach us?&nbsp; Animal tracks and signs, and identification are covered as well as the inter-relationships they have with the rest of their ecosystem. Grades K \u2013 6<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Outdoor Learning Skills<\/strong> \u2013 As outdoor exploration becomes more popular among young people, the need to educate them on how to stay safe in the woods has become essential.&nbsp; This skills-building program gives the basics on how to construct a survival shelter, navigation by map and compass, lost-proofing and keeping mental control, finding water, etc.&nbsp; Grades 5 \u2013 8.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nature and Art<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Discover nature through observation and creativity.
