2022 Seasonal Positions 

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates who would like to make a difference in the lives of children this summer for the following positions:

Seasonal Environmental Educator: 
Responsible for assisting in all aspects of  environmental education programs held at the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center including but not limited to:  delivering environmental education lessons related to environmental science and natural resources to the public, at summer camp and in scheduled groups on –site. Preparing written educational materials. Will assist in day-to-day operation of nature center.  Experience working with children preferred. Some experience in outdoor recreation preferred. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and hike three miles, be able to work some weekends and evenings and possess a valid driver’s license. Bachelors degree in Natural Science or Education preferred. Spring – Fall.

Camp Assistant Director:
Responsible for camp operations including supervision of staff and campers, teaching environmental education lessons and completing administrative tasks. Experience working with children required. Some experience in outdoor recreation preferred. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and hike three miles, be an enthusiastic role model and have a love of working with children. Bachelors degree in Natural Science or Education preferred. July 5 – August 12.

Camp Counselor: Outdoor Adventure Camp 
Supervise children at camp, assist in teaching crafts, nature lessons and adventure based activities.   Experience working with kids preferred.  Must have transportation to and from the Center. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and hike three miles, be comfortable working in the outdoors, getting dirty and handling icky things.     July 5 through August 12

 Part time Weekend Park Worker
Work 16 hours on weekends. Must have excellent communication and public relations skills. This position will greet visitors to the Center,  inform the public about the Center, be responsible for renting boats and perform light grounds upkeep such as gardening and mowing lawns.
